The new digital map is a valuable dataset for visualizing landscape patterns throughout the state. TheIn 2017 and 2018, the first two years of the mapping project, more than 3,000 field sites were visited across Kansas. Skilled botanists and field ecologists from the Kansas Biological Survey stopped at predetermined locations along rural roads.
